Wesley Yao
Provisional psychologist
Wesley Yao is a Provisional Psychologist who is passionate about helping people feel supported, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. He believes that therapy should feel safe and collaborative, where clients can openly explore their challenges and build on their strengths at their own pace.
Wesley has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, stress, behavioural difficulties, and life transitions. His approach is flexible and client-focused - adapting strategies to suit each individual’s needs, goals, and circumstances. His work draws on evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths-based approaches.
Wesley aims to provide clients with practical tools they can use in their everyday lives, while also supporting them to build resilience and long-term wellbeing. As part of his provisional registration, Wesley practises under supervision and engages in ongoing professional development to ensure he provides the best possible support to clients.
